Button Panic

A while back I posted on Writeminded about my parents’ dilemma of where to go to celebrate 50 years of marriage.  Well, they finally made up their minds and, I’m happy to say, decided to take us with them!

The winning destination?  Hawaii!

We leave in less than three weeks, not that I’m counting.  (Uh yeah, my family doesn’t do advanced planning well, but that’s a separate post…)

I’ve spent the week doing the actual booking and this reminded me of another problem I have in addition to inability to plan in advance.

Button anxiety.

You know, that moment of terror, as your cursor hovers over that “accept” button, that maybe you screwed something up that commits you for all of eternity?  Specifically to something financial?  Usually financially huge?

So yeah, primary example:  committing to 6 airline tickets.  To Hawaii.  But I’m happy to report, I summoned my inner courage and Pushed.  The.  Button.  (And as far as I can tell, I didn’t screw up.)

Now, only thing left is to lose five pounds and find a swimsuit that won’t scar me or others around me for life (which could probably be another post as well…)

I’m also at Writeminded today so I hope you’ll drop by there.

Happy weekend!

That is a truly fantastic thing for your parents to do. If you only have to worry about losing 5 lbs….relax…you can do it….have a fun trip

  4. Ooh, *button anxiety*…. shivers. I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about. It’s almost… well, actually, is as bad as, swimsuit anxiety. I recently bought my daughter an airline ticket and I know that feeling. Next up – taxes online. Getting ill just thinking about it.

Good luck, and have a great trip! :)

Thanks, ladies! Kate…ugh…yeah. I gotta do that tax thing too. Good luck on yours.
