20 Questions with Kay Stockham

Kay Stockham began writing at a young age, ever since copying the pictures out of a Charlie Brown book and rewriting the story because she didn't like the plot. She's worked as a computer lab tech, a library aide, spent more time than she cares to think about working as a temp for legal offices all over Cincinnati, and as a secretary/office manager of a commercial real estate development company before being put on bedrest while pregnant, and finishing her first manuscript.

Now a wife of fourteen years and mother of two, her stories saved her sanity when it came to the daily battles of sibling rivalry and a house that refuses to clean itself. Kay's 20 Questions

1. Current writing project: A new series proposal while I wait on line edits and revision suggestions on projects already contracted.

2. Favorite food: Is chocolate a food? If not, bread. I could live on bread.

3. Cocktail of choice: Since I've given up my vice of Mt. Dew (shudder of withdrawl) I guess iced tea.

4. Favorite men’s underwear: Boxers. There's just something sexy about boxers.

5. Paper or plastic?Paper.

6. Currently listening to: Nickelback and Breaking Benjamin.

7. Favorite type of romance hero: The everyday guy. There's a little bit of hero in all the guys I know and they're not all tall, dark and gorgeous, but they're still heroes.

8. Best writing time: Morning.

9. What was the last book you read that was SO good you had to recommend it to others? No question about this one--- J.R. Ward's Brotherhood series. Fabulous writing and unbelievable heroes.

10. Ski slope or beach vacation? Beach. There's something so soothing about the ocean.

11. Favorite part of your job: Creating that spark of the first meet.

12. M&Ms…plain, peanut, almond, peanut butter or other? Plain. Remember the chocolate question above? *G*

13. What’s your favorite day of the week and why? Mondays. They're typically quiet and I actually get some work done.

14. Last movie you saw in the theater: Ug. Stranger than Fiction.... which was just strange. Didn't like it. :(

15. Laptop, desktop, Alphasmart or other? Both laptop and desktop. I go back and forth between them pretty frequently.

16. If you could win an all-expenses-paid trip and leave tomorrow, where would you go? The wilds of Scotland, Ireland, maybe Norway? Oh, or New Zealand.

17. McDonalds, Burger King or no thank you? No, thank you!

18. Favorite story you’ve written: Usually whatever I'm working on now.

19. The most interesting place you’ve lived or visited: New Orleans

20. Deadlines: Done early or chasing the FedEx truck to make it? Done early. Yeah.... I'm one of *those* people. ;)
