"THE BOY NEXT DOOR is a heart-wrenching novel of two families caught up in bitterness and blame. Amy Knupp skillfully tells their story with such realism that it is like watching the drama unfold in your own neighborhood. A strong story line, genuine characters and compassionate hero and heroine make for an unforgettable read."

My mom came to SF with me and we stayed across the street from the conference hotel...at the Mosser. Very fun, funky, vintage place. (Oh wait. They called it Victorian.)

This is the main room...that's the couch I slept on. It folded out...most nights.

After we unloaded our luggage, we headed out to Chinatown. What better way to get there than to take a cable car?

Random shiny thing that got my attention while we waited for the cable car...very cool old buildings. This one houses the Gap.

Here's a narrow alley in Chinatown. I bought some chopsticks for my hubby in Chinatown...they have a sticker on them that says "Made in Japan."

A cute little produce stand in Chinatown.

The next day, we headed to Pier 39 for lunch and some quick shopping. This is Liz Kreger (Samhain author), Maya Banks (critique partner and Samhain, Berkley and Silhouette author) and me.

Clearly, I had a thing for fruit stands. This one is on Pier 39 and we paid $20 for about 15 large (very delicious) strawberries and maybe half a pint of cherries.

We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and this is the view from our table.

This is as close as we got to Alcatraz...not enough time to play before the conference started!

Maya and I ordered the snickers pie to split. The four of us ended up pigging out on it and we still didn't finish it all! It was tres yum, except it seemed to be missing the caramel sauce mentioned on the menu. (Maya was not happy.)

I apparently didn't bother to take my camera out once during the amazing, overwhelming Literacy Signing (over 500 authors signing their books) but my mom did in order to snap a photo of the queen herself, Nora.

This was one of the many raffle giveaways. Yes, a SINGLE giveaway...all those books. And...*drum roll please*...my mom WON THEM. Made her entire trip. Thanks to the PASIC chapter of RWA for donating them!

The now-famous Superromance Readers' Tiara party. This is Kay Stockham (Superromance) and brand new Silhouette Special Edition author Christyne Butler with me.

Me and Kay Stockham at the tiara shindig.

Christyne Butler, Danica (aka Dream), me and Kay. Yeah, still at the tiara gig.

The Harlequin party!! Jennifer Haymore (Samhain editor and author for too many publishers for me to keep track of...also co-conspirator to get Maya to stop using gramatically incorrect southernisms,) Maya Banks, me, Kay Stockham and Kim Van Meter, Superromance and Silouette Romantic Suspense author.

Here I am with Toni Blake.

Ellen Hartman (another Super author) and me.

Kay and I are taking a break from boogying down.

Me and Larissa Ione, fellow Writeminded-er and author for Grand Central Publishing, Red Sage, Samhain and Bantam. I think. Who can keep track? FYI this is before the tree fell on her.

After the RITA and Golden Heart ceremony...this is me, my editor Victoria Curran (ask her what's in her purse) and my mom.

Kay Stockham, Jane Kennedy-Hilel (hope I got that right), my mom and me.
